Excitement greets registration of School on Parents/Community Day

Head teacher Mrs. Mrs Rose Abade speaks to the students on the Parents Day
There was great excitment from students, teachers, parents and the general school community on March 3, 2015 when it was formally announced that finally, Kaguria Mixed Secondary School had been registered as a pubic school by the Ministry of Education.

The struggle to establish the school has been a long one with the support of the community over the last five years although the dream started much earlier. It has also benefitted from the Ndhiwa Constituency Development Fund (CDF) which helped to complete two classrooms that had been put up the community.

And now the school has both form One and Two classes and the number of students are increasing despite the modest facilities some of the basic of which are still lacking.

During the parents/community open day, excited students, teachers and members of the community expressed joy and support when it finally dawned on them that the school had been registered by the government. Parents and members of the community said they would offer all the support needed to see the school pick up and grow into a center of academic excellence and community information management and sharing.

Some of the students pose for a photo session near their makeshift kitchen.
